FFA2510v: Safeguarding Public Resources: Insights into Accountability and Fraud Risks from the AGO FY2024/2025 Report (17 October 2025, 12PM to 1PM)

đź’¬It was my pleasure to be the second presenter (after Shian Jan Erwin CHEN) where I spoke on “Fraud Risks, Recurring Lapses, and Strengthening Governance,” relating to the Report of the Auditor-General FY 2024/2025.

Building on the earlier sharing, my session explored:
⚠️ Common fraud risks and control weaknesses observed across public sector entities;
🔄 Recurring lapses highlighted in the Auditor-General’s annual reports and the underlying causes; and
🏛️ Governance enablers to strengthen accountability, transparency, and ethical culture in the public sector.

As part of the session, I also included a short recorded demonstration on how Generative AI tools—such as Google’s NotebookLM—can be used to analyze the historical Auditor-General’s Reports from FY2006 to date.

The demo illustrated how such tools can help professionals identify recurring patterns, emerging risk themes, and governance insights more efficiently.

My thanks to Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) and ACFE Singapore Chapter (Official) for the opportunity to contribute to this meaningful discussion on integrity and governance, and to all participants for your thoughtful engagement and reflections.
